“When I snap my fingers you’ll see the quickest thaw ever,” Winter told Spring.
“Won’t that cause floods?” Spring asked.
“Yes, but we have to shock people into action,” Winter replied.
“I’ll provide droughts,” Summer interjected, “that will make them think!”
“Then I’ll blow in with hurricanes and tornadoes,” Autumn added.
“How will you make them see the consequences of their ways?” Winter asked Spring.
“I’ll be warm and calm to remind them of what they’ll miss,” Spring replied.
“Too late for that,” winter snarled and he snapped off all his icicle fingers.
Floods, droughts and hurricanes followed, Spring never did.
