COMPETITIONS

A Young Woman Writing

Calling all writers and aspiring writers!

Our writing competitions are open to anyone who has a story to tell. We are a platform that celebrates and supports the literary arts, so our competitions are designed to promote new work and writers, while offering the winners valuable support. Submit your best work today and see where your writing can take you!

All our competitions are judged by experts in their field who published novelists, playwrights and poets and/or Postgraduates in the literary arts.

WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON OUR SYSTEMS AND MIGRATING PAST STORIES FROM TORTIVE THEATRE.

#FLASHFICTION101

Our flagship competition is back.

It has been restructured to make the competition more sustainable and to reward writers through a contribution-based prize fund.

Monthly competition. 101 words. Multiple themes.

FIRST STAGE

We are currently developing a new writing festival in conjunction with the Berwick Creative and Cultural Zone. This will be open to international writers but will have specific categories for writers in Berwick-upon-Tweed and Northumberland.

More information will be coming in Autumn 2024

1001

Our short story competition that originally started as 'Chiasmus'. We're currently looking at bringing this back to life and building on some of the incredible work we were lucky enough to read previously.

More information coming soon.
